Event Description:
The South Side Office of Concern (SSOC) is hosting a free screening of the critically acclaimed documentary, Storied Streets, on the Giant Screen Theater at the Peoria Riverfront Museum on Tuesday, November 14.  The film is being shown in recognition of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, which is November 11-19. 
Storied Streets explores homelessness across America by telling the stories of those who live it every day.  The
full-length film profiles those that are homeless and their struggles to survive. The stories are real, raw, and  compelling.  They provide a window into their challenges, question stereotypes, and will change the way we think and feel about homelessness.   The film was produced by Susan Sarandon, was directed by Thomas Morgan and Jack Robbins, and is rated PG-13.

This event is open to the public and their is no charge to attend.  However, cash contributions and/or donations of supplies are encouraged.  Requested donation items include:
¨ hand and foot warmers
¨ hand sanitizer
¨ pocket size packages of tissue
¨ hats
¨ gloves
¨ socks
¨ lip balm.
Donated supplies will be distributed to local homeless individuals, families and veterans by the SSOC’s Homeless Outreach Team.
