SUMMARY:EPCC - 2015 Christmas Splendor Exterior Decorating Contest
DESCRIPTION:Deck the porch\, windows and roof for the 2015 Christmas Splendor Exterior Decorating Contest!\n\nThe East Peoria Beautification Commission's annual contest\, an official East Peoria Festival of Lights event\, is open to East Peoria structures. There are three divisions: homes\; businesses which include schools and churches\; and neighborhoods. In addition\, people can nominate a home they think is deserving of recognition for the Spirit Award.\n\nChristmas Splendor contestants can enter their own structure or neighborhood\, or enter others. Judging will occur Tuesday\, Dec. 8 and all entrants must have the outdoor holiday lights on between 5:30 and 9 p.m. those nights.\n\nA point-based judging system will be used on the following criteria: first impression\, design/use of theme\, originality and use of special effects.\n\nThe contest is open to owner- or tenant-made exterior displays and must be viewable from curbside. Those utilizing professional lighting services as well as 2014 Christmas Splendor contest winners are not eligible.\n\nAwards will be presented to those placing first and second in each category.
