Description
The RiverFront Freedom Memorial memorializes all who have given some, and some who have given all, to preserve our American freedoms. The memorial will incorporate an 80ft. flagpole bearing a 20ft. by 30 ft. flag. In addition, five smaller flags will be affixed to poles surrounding the American Flag in a pentagon. Surrounding the pentagonal shape will be a 2 ft. high wall for seat viewing. Paving bricks will form the base of the structure, with color variances providing the shape of a five-pointed star in the center.
The East Peoria Chamber of Commerce will dedicate the Memorial a RiverFront Park in East Peoria on July 4, 2009, at noon.
