What is the Relay for Life movement?
The American Cancer Society Relay for Life event gives an opportunity to partake in the fight against cancer. Teams made up of family members, friends, and/or coworkers take turns walking around a track or path at a local school, park or fairground. The Relay For Life event raises both funds and awareness for the importance of cancer prevention, early detection, treatment, and patient support. The event includes ceremonies to celebrate cancer survivors as well as remember lost loved ones.
