Jonah’s Seafood House was opened in 1986, as the culmination of Terry Waldschmidt’s desire to create a unique, fine dining experience along the left bank of the Illinois River. Terry brought with him years of experience in the restaurant business, where he acquired the knowledge and skills necessary to produce the finest seafood and prepare it to perfection.
At our 2601 Oyster Bar, you'll always find a lively crowd, enjoying our casual, yet upscale atmosphere. The menu includes sandwiches, flatbreads, and a tempting array of appetizers.
Try our grouper sandwich...fresh from the Sunshine State, or enjoy our fresh shucked oysters, with at least two varieties offered on the half shell daily. Try one of our craft beers, imported wines, a martini, or one of our specialty mixed drinks, poured to perfection.

Today, Jonah’s continues the tradition of serving fresh seafood, flown in daily. Because the “catch” is always changing, our menu is updated twice daily. Everything on the menu must meet Jonah’s high standards for quality, including our prime meats, chicken, and shellfish. You can pair your selection with a variety of cooking styles, original sauces, toppings, and sides, all developed in the Jonah’s kitchen.
