Germantown Hills School District #69 is raising money for St. Jude Through Laps for Life!
Germantown Hills, IL (May 9, 2023): The students at Germantown Hills, District #69, will raise money for St. Jude the week of May 8 – 12, 2023.
“Laps for Life” kicked off on Friday, May 5th, to get the students both informed and excited to raise money for St. Jude. Throughout the week, students learn about St. Jude with daily announcements and are participating in a fun dress-up week.
Harlan Edwards, a student in Ms. Schwarzentraub’s 3rd-grade class, said, “Laps for Life is a lot of fun! I really like learning about how we help other kids. I also get to dunk my teacher at the party!”
In 2022, the students at District #69 raised $23,286.61 for St. Jude. This year the students have set a goal of $25,000.
Laps for Life will take place on Monday, May 15th. It is an all-day event starting in the morning with the younger grades and the middle school in the afternoon. All students will head outdoors for plenty of fun participating in an obstacle course, with a new obstacle created by the Metamora Township High School woods class, music by Jak'd Entertainment, bouncy houses, the Warp Wall, Kona Ice, and the beloved dunk tank. At 2 PM, all K-8 students will be outside for the check presentation of the money they raised for St. Jude.
