On April 18,1906 at 5:12 a.m. a 7.9 magnitude earthquake struck the city of San Francisco.
A former Peorian, Karolinn Schmidt O’Connor, photographed the aftermath of this earthquake and fire. After many years these small black and white photos, which were stored in an old trunk of her sister’s home in Peoria, made their way to Karolinn’s great niece, Becky Dailey. Becky restored and identified the photos for others to study and view.
